Travels
The Madras Trip
(Recollecting the one day sight seeing tour of Madras)

Coming a bit closer, I found myself in quandary, because the rock did not seem to be a rock. It was a convoluted piece of matter, god knew what. When I was barely few meters away, I realized that it was, .......more

The Park
(who cares for poor trees!)

And in the new generation, when all sources of entertainment in the colony were pruned or removed, there lay the solitary park. A park that was poorly maintained. A park that had rusted swings. And a park that carried the testimony of a decent, if not glorious, past. .......more

The reverberations of their boisterous, but ridiculing laughter, could be heard already. “You know you are not that smart. Then, why do you attempt it?” One at the back would shout, “ When will you learn Sumit?” And to sum it all, the wisest of them would remark .......more

Poems

Just Another Night
(the economic divide)

   The monsoons had blessed them,
The holes in the plastic could tell you that,
Had the gods tried to flaunt their might,
   Or was it natural, .......more

Should I Dream?
(Is it really worth taking all that effort? What about the pain?)

When the burden of my dreams,
    make me choke,
   And my body shudders
    leaving me  .......more

From Microcosm to Macrocosm (Added on 3/8/2002)
(From microcosm to macrocosm, everything is nothing, and nothing anything?)

  Then, there is a debate,
‘who started the fire’ thy ask?
  but the earth is round,
who can say where it starts and where it ends,
but this does not affect the debate,
‘thou were provoked’ thy still protest .......more
